Fixed
include_cronreads/etc/anacrontab, so thecron.daily,cron.weeklyandcron.monthlyjobs anacron runs show up as tasks that catch up once after the machine was off.runwisp takeoverreads it and retires anacron along with cron, and re-running it adds/etc/anacrontabto theinclude_cronan earlier take-over wrote.runwisp takeoverrun without root re-runs itself with sudo, and ends by printing the dashboard address and how to get the password.- Crontab jobs get clearer task names:
run-parts /etc/cron.hourlybecomescron-hourly, andif …; then …lines are named after the program they run instead ofif. Tasks already read from a crontab may change name, starting a new run history. runwisp takeoverwithout root no longer asks for a sudo password just to look around, and no longer reports “no cron jobs” on a box that has them.- Hints to run
sudo runwisp …name the full binary path when sudo can’t findrunwispon its own (for example in~/.local/bin). runwisp passwordand other commands that can’t reach a daemon say when RunWisp runs as the system service, andrunwisp passwordno longer creates a.runwispfolder in the current directory.- Distro cron lines that do nothing on the machine, like
test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || …on a box with anacron, are no longer imported as tasks.runwisp import cronandrunwisp takeoverlist them as left out. - The daemon no longer warns on every start about Debian’s
/etc/cron.d/.placeholderor thecrontabsdirectory under/var/spool/cron.
Security
- A system service never runs a binary a normal user can replace:
takeoverandservice installcopy such a binary to/usr/local/bin/runwispand run the copy.
